Full Body Column.jpg

Rochelle’s career as a criminal prosecutor over the last nine years has centered around bringing justice to victims for some of the most atrocious and unspeakable crimes. She has built an outstanding record of criminal prosecution during her tenure with the St. Charles Parish District Attorney’s Office, where she has secured convictions through jury trials in murders, sex crimes against child victims, and other crimes of violence.  Rochelle has developed a reputation among fellow attorneys as being fair and professional while also ensuring that justice is served.

For more than fourteen years, Rochelle has also obtained extensive civil litigation experience in areas including medical malpractice, insurance defense, family law, succession/estate law, personal injury and workers’ compensation where she has represented clients through jury trials, bench trials, motion hearings and countless depositions. Rochelle has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and has presented oral argument before the Louisiana Supreme Court, the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Rochelle, the daughter of Sheriff Greg Champagne and Alice Landry Champagne, is a graduate of Hahnville High School and Louisiana State University. In 2008, she graduated with honors from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Rochelle and her husband Jody reside in Luling and are the proud parents of Sebastian (12) and Rhett (8). They are parishioners of Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling.

Rochelle has issued the following statement: “Over the course of my legal career, I have learned the critical importance of our court system and its impact on the people in our community. I am committed to preserving the integrity of the justice system and promise to continue my dedication to public service as a District Court Judge. As I have done for my entire career, I will dutifully adhere to the Constitution and the laws of the State of Louisiana. I humbly ask for your support in the upcoming election.”
